For investors in the Platinum Trust Funds or the Platinum Global Fund (mFund), this page provides a repository of information on how to manage your investments with Platinum, including how to check details of your unit holdings through secure online access, how to top up your investments or make other transactions, and how to make other changes to your account, such as with respect to the handling of distributions and third-party authorisations.

Enhanced functionality means you can now:

upload scanned forms or documents via the secure client website,
create a ‘watch list’ for both your Platinum and external investments for tracking purposes,
update your details (other than details of nominated financial institution accounts and regular investment plans), provided you have the appropriate user access.

If you have not registered for secure online access, you may do so at any time by:

following the simple steps here; or
emailing your request to register@platinum.com.au; or
calling us to request a client ID.

To register for secure online access, you will need to provide an email address and mobile number for each individual that you require to be issued with a client ID and password. The request must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories, where more than one is required) on the relevant account. Once registered, you will receive an email containing your unique 8 digit client ID and a link to set your password. We will also send a one-time security code via SMS to your mobile for verification purposes.

Reporting

As an investor in the Platinum Trust Fund(s), you will receive:

an investment confirmation, generally within 10 Business Days after your application (for initial or additional investments, but not those made under a regular investment plan) is accepted by us;
a confirmation of a withdrawal, switch or transfer of units, generally within 10 Business Days after your request is accepted by us;
a confirmation of any change of personal details recorded in your account, generally within 10 Business Days after we receive your instruction;
a holding summary (sent quarterly or annually, as chosen by you) detailing all of your transactions for the reporting period;
the Platinum Trust Quarterly Reports, which provide in-depth market commentaries written by the portfolio managers in addition to performance updates and portfolio changes;
an annual distribution and tax statement (including tax guide) for each financial year, generally sent by the end of July;
if you have elected to receive a paper copy when completing the Application Form, an annual financial report containing the financial statements of the Platinum Trust Funds, generally within two months of the end of each financial year;
an annual fee statement (sent yearly or when you fully exit the Platinum Trust Funds) as prescribed by the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth); and
a withdrawal capital gains tax (CGT) statement for Australian tax resident investors that have withdrawn units during the financial year (sent yearly or when you fully exit the Platinum Trust Funds).

As long as you have an active account with existing investments in at least one of the Platinum Trust Funds, you may add to your investments in that particular fund/unit class or make an investment in any of the other Platinum Trust Funds (or another unit class of the same fund) without the need to complete a fresh Application Form or provide ID documentation again.

Simply follow the steps below.

Step 1 – Read the Product Disclosure Statement

Download a copy of the current Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).

Alternatively, request a free hard copy be mailed to you.

Step 2 – Complete a short Additional Investment Form

There is no minimum amount requirement if you are making an additional investment in a unit class of a fund in which you have existing investments.

If you are making an investment in a fund or a unit class in which you are not currently invested, the minimum amount required is A$10,000 or NZ$10,000 per unit class.

To make an additional investment:

complete an Online Additional Investment Form; or
print and complete an Additional Investment Form; or
send us your instructions in a letter or email. Please specify your Platinum account number and name, the name of the fund(s) and unit class(es) you wish to invest in, and the amount(s) you wish to invest. Please also state how your monies will be transferred to Platinum.

If you have chosen the first option, the Online Additional Investment Form will be electronically sent to us when you click "submit" at the end of the process.

Step 3 – Transfer funds to Platinum

Option 1: By cheque

Cheques must be drawn in Australian dollars and made payable to 'Platinum Trust'.

Option 2: By EFT or direct deposit

BPAY® instructions submitted prior to 6:00pm AEST on a Business Day will usually meet the 3:00pm AEST cut-off time on the next Business Day, provided that you give us notice of your BPAY® deposit before that time.

If you are making payment by EFT, direct deposit or BPAY®, please ensure that you:

ask your financial institution to record the investor account name as a narrative on the payment description (or, if using direct deposit, ask Platinum's bank to add the investor account name as a reference against the deposit); and
notify Platinum of the details of your EFT, direct deposit or BPAY® (including which fund(s) and unit class(es) the monies are to be applied to) as soon as possible so that we can identify your money.

Failure to take either of these steps may result in processing delays and additional costs to you.

Option 4: By direct debit

This option is only available for transactions in Australian dollars.

You can authorise Platinum to debit investment amounts directly from your nominated Australian financial institution account if you have completed the relevant section in the Additional Investment Form.

For applications made under the direct debit arrangement, we will endeavour to debit your nominated financial institution account on the day your completed application is received and processed by us or your earliest debit date if specified on the Additional Investment Form (if this date is later), provided that your application meets our processing requirements.

The entry price that will apply to an investment made under the direct debit arrangement will be based on when we receive your money from your financial institution. For example, a payment initiated on one Business Day should cause your funds to be invested at the entry price applicable to the next Business Day.

Setting up a regular investment plan is an easy and convenient way to add to your investments in the Platinum Trust Funds on a regular basis. Not only does it help with developing a disciplined routine of saving and investing, but it also reduces the administrative burden of making ad hoc additional investments.

Simply follow the steps below.

1. Read the Product Disclosure Statement

2. Complete a Regular Investment Plan Form

If you have existing investments in a unit class in one of the Platinum Trust Funds, you can set up a regular investment plan for that particular unit class with as little as A$200 or NZ$200 per month or per quarter.

To set up a regular investment plan for a fund or a unit class in which you are not currently invested, you will need to make a minimum initial investment of A$5,000 or NZ$5,000 in that particular unit class, followed by A$200 or NZ$200 per month or per quarter.

Your specified investment amount will be deducted from your nominated financial institution account on the 19th of each month (or, for a quarterly plan, on the 19th of a particular month). Where the 19th falls on a non-Business Day, money will be debited from your nominated financial institution account on the next Business Day.

If you are nominating an Australian financial institution account:

complete an Online Regular Investment Plan Form; or
print and complete a Regular Investment Plan Form.

If you are nominating a New Zealand financial institution account:

complete an Online New Zealand Specific Direct Debit Authority Form; or
print and complete a New Zealand Specific Direct Debit Authority Form.

You may request a withdrawal of all or a part of your investment in the Platinum Trust Funds at any time.

The minimum withdrawal amount is A$10,000 per unit class or your entire investment balance in a particular unit class if the withdrawal would cause your investment in that unit class to fall below A$10,000. If you have an ongoing regular investment plan for a particular unit class, a minimum balance of A$5,000 is required to keep your investment in that unit class open.

To request a withdrawal:

complete an Online Withdrawal Form; or
print and complete a Withdrawal Form; or
send us your withdrawal instructions in a letter or email. Please specify your Platinum account number and name, the name of the fund(s) and unit class(es) you wish to withdraw from, and the amount(s) (in A$) you wish to withdraw. Please also state how you want the proceeds to be paid to you.

Withdrawal proceeds can be paid:

by cheque, made payable to the investor (i.e. the unitholder(s) as noted on the fund's unitholder register), in Australian dollars (or New Zealand dollars^#); or
by EFT to the investor's nominated Australian or New Zealand^# financial institution account.

^# The conversion of your Australian investment to New Zealand dollars will be processed by the Platinum Trust Funds' bank, State Street Trust and Bank, at the exchange rate it determines (at the processing time) to be market rate.

Important things to note:

The instruction or Withdrawal Form must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories, where more than one is required) to the account.
If you want the proceeds to be paid into a financial institution account that is not currently on our record as your nominated account, you must post or hand-deliver the original signed instruction or Withdrawal Form to Platinum.
If proceeds are to be paid by cheque or into your previously nominated financial institution account, you may fax or email the signed instruction or Withdrawal Form to us. However, please call us to confirm receipt after you send the fax or email.
Your withdrawal request must be received and accepted by us prior to 3:00pm AEST on a Business Day to be processed at the exit price applicable to that Business Day. Withdrawal requests received and accepted after 3:00pm AEST on a Business Day (but before the next processing cut-off time) will generally be processed at the exit price applicable to the next Business Day.
The proceeds of your withdrawal are normally available within 10 Business Days after we receive your written request or Withdrawal Form, assuming normal operating conditions.

You may request to switch all or a part of your investment from any unit class in any one of the Platinum Trust Funds to another unit class of the same fund or to another Platinum Trust Fund at any time.

The minimum initial investment of A$10,000 applies if you are switching to a unit class in which you are not currently invested. A minimum balance of A$10,000 is required to keep your current investment in a unit class open. If you have an ongoing regular investment plan for a particular unit class, a minimum balance of A$5,000 is required to keep your investment in that unit class open.

To request a switch:

complete an Online Switch Form; or
print and complete a Switch Form; or
send us your switch instructions in a letter or email. Please specify your Platinum account number and name, the names of the fund(s) and unit class(es) you wish to switch from and to, respectively, and the amount(s) you wish to switch.

Important things to note:

The instruction or Switch Form must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories, where more than one is required) to the account.
You may fax or email your signed instruction or Switch Form to us. However, please call us to confirm receipt after you send the fax or email.
A switch is treated as a withdrawal and an additional investment. The Platinum Trust Funds’ buy spread and sell spread will apply when switching between funds, but no buy/sell spread will apply when switching between unit classes of the same fund.
Switching between funds or unit classes may give rise to tax consequences and Platinum recommends that you check the tax implications with your tax adviser before sending us a switch request.

Units in a Platinum Trust Fund cannot be transferred from one investor to another person or entity without Platinum’s prior consent.

To request a transfer of your units in a Platinum Trust Fund, please send to us a completed Standard Transfer Form.

Important things to note:

For a transfer request to be accepted and processed, the transferee must have an active account with Platinum. Please ensure that you advise us of the transferee’s Platinum account number and name in your transfer request. If the transferee does not currently have an active account with Platinum, you will need to provide us with an original Application Form for New Investment duly signed by the transferee.
A transfer is processed at the NAV unit price, which means that no buy-sell spread is applied.
Transferring units may give rise to tax consequences and Platinum recommends that you check the tax implications with your tax adviser before sending us a transfer request.

What to do with your distributions

The Platinum Trust Funds may earn income (such as dividends and interest) from their investments and may also realise capital gains or losses on the sale of their investments. Income and net realised capital gains are distributed to investors annually as at 30 June.

The components of the distribution will vary from fund to fund and from year to year, the details of which are set out in the annual distribution and tax statement provided to investors. There may also be times when no distribution is payable.

Distributions are calculated in dollars-per-unit on the number of units held by each investor as at the end of the distribution date. This means that your distribution entitlement from a fund is not pro-rated for the duration of your investment in the fund during the tax year.

When a distribution is made, the unit price will fully reflect the distribution.

Investors will generally receive their entitlement (if payable) within 15 Business Days after the distribution date.

You can elect to have your distribution entitlement:

reinvested as additional units in the same unit class of the same fund; or
paid into your nominated financial institution account.*

If no election is made, your distribution entitlement will be automatically reinvested. Additional units will be issued at the NAV unit price on the relevant Business Day, and the buy spread will not apply.

To change your election:

if you have the appropriate user access, log onto the Secure Client Website and update your distribution election for the specific fund(s) you want the change to be applied to; or
complete an Online Change of Details Form; or
print and complete a Change of Details Form; or
send us your instructions in a letter which can be scanned to email or sent via post. Please specify your Platinum account number and name, whether you elect to have your distribution entitlement reinvested of paid out, as well as the name of the specific fund(s) you want the change to be applied to.

Important things to note:

The instruction or Change of Details Form must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories where more than one is required) to the account.
If you are nominating a new financial institution account, you must send your original signed instruction or Change or Details Form to us by post.
For all other account changes, you may fax or email your signed instruction or Change of Details Form to us. However, please call us to confirm receipt after you send the fax or email.
For a change to be reflected in the next distribution, your instruction or Change of Details Form must be received by us no later than five Business Days before 30 June.
As the Platinum Trust Funds are forward-priced, the last day that a transaction can be received for processing (so as to be included for the 30 June distribution) is the Business Day prior to 30 June. Note that the processing cut-off time on that day is 3:00pm AEST. Where 30 June falls on a non-Business Day, the cut-off date will be two Business Days prior to 30 June.
You can elect to have your distribution entitlement paid to an Australian resident or New Zealand resident bank, building society or credit union account. The account nominated by you must be in the name of the investor, i.e. the unitholder(s) as noted on the fund's unitholder register. Platinum's policy does not permit payments to be made to third parties.

^* For payments to a New Zealand financial institution account, your Australian distribution entitlement will be converted to New Zealand dollars prior to payment. This will be processed by the Platinum Trust Funds, bank, State Street Trust and Bank, at the exchange rate it determines (at the processing time) to be market rate.

Update your details

You may amend your account details (such as your address, contact details, nominated financial adviser or administrator, and nominated financial institution account) in writing at any time.

To amend your account details:

if you have the appropriate user access, log onto the Secure Client Website and update your details (other than details of nominated financial institution accounts); or
complete an Online Change of Details Form; or
print and complete a Change of Details Form; or
send us your instructions in a letter which can be scanned to email or sent via post. Please specify your Platinum account number and name together with the details of the changes requested.

Important things to note:

The instruction or Change of Details Form must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories where more than one is required) to the account.
If you are nominating a new financial institution account, you must send your original signed instruction or Change or Details Form to us by post.
For all other account changes, you may fax or email your signed instruction or Change of Details Form to us. However, please call us to confirm receipt after you send the fax or email.
Please note that as your investments in all of the Platinum Trust Funds (if you have invested in more than one) are covered under a single Platinum account, a change to your account details will apply to all Platinum Trust Funds in which you hold units (except for a change of election with respect to distribution entitlement, which is implemented on a fund-specific basis).

Authorise a representative to access your account

You may appoint another person or entity as your authorised representative (agent or attorney) and give that person or entity the authority to access your Platinum account on your behalf.

To appoint an authorised representative:

complete an Online Operating Authority Form (Individual Representative) or Online Operating Authority Form (Corporate Representative); or
print and complete an Operating Authority Form (Individual Representative) or Operating Authority Form (Corporate Representative); or
provide us with a valid power of attorney document. We also require the attorney to validate their authority by providing a non-revocation statement (for subsequent instructions). A non-revocation statement is a signed letter from the attorney that states: "I, [name] of [address] (the Attorney), am acting under a power of attorney granted to me by [name of investor] (the Investor), and have no knowledge of revocation or suspension of that power by the Investor or the death or mental incapacity of the Investor."

Please consider carefully before appointing an authorised representative.

Your authorised representative (agent or attorney) will be empowered to act on your behalf in all matters relating to your investment in the Platinum Trust Funds, including making a request to withdraw or transfer all or a part of your investments and change your account details. Please refer to the current Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for further details on the terms and conditions with respect to the appointment of an authorised representative.

When a distribution is made, the unit price will fully reflect the distribution.

Investors will generally receive their entitlement (if payable) within 15 Business Days after the distribution date.

You can elect to have your distribution entitlement:

reinvested as additional units in the fund; or
paid into your nominated financial institution account.*

To change your election:

if you have the appropriate user access, log onto the Secure Client Website and update your distribution election; or
if you invested in the fund using the ASX mFund Settlement Service via your broker – print and complete an Investment Details Form - (mFund); or
if you invested in the fund directly through Platinum – print and complete a Change of Details Form - (Direct); or
send us your instructions in a letter or email. Please specify your Platinum Global Fund account number and name together with whether you elect to have your distribution entitlement reinvested of paid out.

Important things to note:

The instruction or Change of Details Form must be signed by an authorised signatory (or signatories where more than one is required) to the account.
If you are nominating a new financial institution account, you must send your original signed instruction or Change or Details Form to us by post.
For all other account changes, you may fax or email your signed instruction or Change of Details Form to us. However, please call us to confirm receipt after you send the fax or email.
For a change to be reflected in the next distribution, your instruction or Change of Details Form must be received by us no later than five Business Days before 30 June.
As the Platinum Global Fund is forward-priced, the last day that a transaction can be received for processing (so as to be included for the 30 June distribution) is the Business Day prior to 30 June. Note that the processing cut-off time on that day is 3:00pm AEST. Where 30 June falls on a non-Business Day, this cut-off date will be two Business Days prior to 30 June.
You can elect to have your distribution entitlement paid to an Australian resident or New Zealand resident bank, building society or credit union account. The account nominated by you must be in the name of the investor, i.e. the unitholder(s) as noted on the fund's unitholder register. Platinum's policy does not permit payments to be made to third parties.

^* For payments to a New Zealand financial institution account, your Australian distribution entitlement will be converted to New Zealand dollars prior to payment. This will be processed by the funds' bank, State Street Trust and Bank, at the exchange rate it determines (at the processing time) to be market rate.

Update your details

You may amend your account details (such as your address, contact details, nominated financial adviser or administrator, and nominated financial institution account) in writing at any time.

To amend your account details:

if you have the appropriate user access, log onto the Secure Client Website and update your details (other than details of nominated financial institution accounts); or
if you invested in the fund using the ASX mFund Settlement Service via your broker – print and complete an Investment Details Form - (mFund); or
if you invested in the fund directly through Platinum – print and complete a Change of Details Form - (Direct); or
send us your instructions in a letter or email. Please specify your Platinum Global Fund account number and name together with the details of the changes requested.

Authorise a representative to access your account

You may appoint another person or entity as your authorised representative (agent or attorney) and give that person or entity the authority to access your Platinum Global Fund account on your behalf.

To appoint an authorised representative:

if you invested in the fund using the ASX mFund Settlement Service via your broker – print and complete an Operating Authority Form (Individual Representative) or Operating Authority Form (Corporate Representative); or
if you invested in the fund directly through Platinum – print and complete an Operating Authority Form (Individual Representative) or Operating Authority Form (Corporate Representative); or
provide us with a valid power of attorney document. We also require the attorney to validate their authority by providing a non-revocation statement (for subsequent instructions). A non-revocation statement is a signed letter from the attorney that states: “I, [name] of [address] (the Attorney), am acting under a power of attorney granted to me by [name of investor] (the Investor), and have no knowledge of revocation or suspension of that power by the Investor or the death or mental incapacity of the Investor.”

Please consider carefully before appointing an authorised representative.

Your authorised representative (agent or attorney) will be empowered to act on your behalf in all matters relating to your investment in the Platinum Global Fund, including making a request to withdraw or transfer all or a part of your investments and change your account details. Please refer to the Additional Information Booklet (AIB) for further details on the terms and conditions with respect to the appointment of an authorised representative.
